We provide information on how swallowing works providing personalized insights into why certain challenges arise. This knowledge empowers individuals to make informed choices, promoting safe and enjoyable eating experiences like going to your favorite restaurant and knowing what to order and what not!

Throughout this module, our cognitive therapist will help you understand the importance of emotion and motivation after a brain damage. Anxiety, depression, personality changes, anger or apathy are frequently seen among people who suffered from brain-related medical conditions.

Acknowledging why these emotions appear and how to approach them is essential to recovery. Our emotions determine the importance of our goals and the strength with which we will fight to achieve them. Managing our capacity of processing and regulating emotions stands as one of the most valuable assets to incorporate in a rehabilitation process.

Throughout this module, our cognitive therapist will help you understand the importance of Behaviour after a Brain Damage. The way we act is directly determined by the organization of our brain. The disruption of our neural pathways can change our way of acting. Family members and friends often report inconsistency in their relative’s conduct after a neurological condition. Aggressiveness, impulsivity, personality changes, social inadequacy, hyperboulia, inactivity, tics or stereotypies can be caused by an altered brain.

Tackling this symptomatology from a professional perspective would allow us to minimize the potential risks, reduce, modulate and even extinguish the frequency of undesired behaviours and increase the positive ones.

The module Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) is a proven arm rehabilitation approach that involves intensive use of your weaker arm whilst wearing a mitt on your stronger arm. CIMT has been developed to improve arm function after a neurological injury, such as after a stroke. During this 3 week module, you will work intensively on chosen activities which tackle the specific movement problems we identified together in an assessment.

CIMT works on simple ‘use it to improve it’ principles and results in rewiring of the brain as new pathways develop, along with increased arm movement.
