In my position as Marketing & Sales Assistant at cereneo, I had the opportunity to experience the day-to-day therapy at our clinic and the care of our patients first-hand. I was particularly struck by the individual approach to the rehabilitation of each patient, which has a decisive influence on the recovery process not only medically but also emotionally. On this basis, in this blog article, I give a personal insight into the daily work in the clinic and the intensive, often emotional day-to-day therapy at cereneo.
Individual therapy goals and holistic care
The road to recovery after a stroke is individual for each person. This is why we always start therapy with an intensive discussion between the person affected, their relatives and our interdisciplinary clinic team, in addition to detailed initial assessments. On this basis, an individual therapy plan is developed that is tailored to the personal needs and goals of the stroke patient. Both the medical condition and the personal circumstances are taken into account, where the focus can be on restoring mobility, speech skills, returning to everyday activities or even individual hobbies.
The close collaboration of the interdisciplinary team including nursing, therapy and doctors, is also particularly noteworthy. They all contribute their expertise to provide holistic support for patients and their environment. Through constant communication and regular assessments, we can react flexibly to progress and constantly adapt the treatment plan. In the meetings, I could feel the commitment with which everyone involved works to achieve the best possible outcome for each patient.
International cooperation and modern technologies
Our clinic is part of an international network and works closely with the LLUI research institute. This collaboration not only strengthens our pioneering role in neurological rehabilitation, but also enables us to benefit from the latest scientific findings and integrate them directly into our treatment.
The use of state-of-the-art technologies in the therapies also makes an impression — our highly developed equipment and innovative therapy framework offer the opportunity to support the healing process even more specifically. This includes activity monitoring, for example, which records the movement behaviour of our patients even outside of the therapy sessions. This allows therapy to be adapted precisely to actual progress and needs and ensures even more effective rehabilitation.
Making progress visible and encouraging motivation
What has touched me personally is the joy that patients and their families experience when they make progress. Our therapists do everything they can to divide the big goals into small, achievable steps. In this way, patients are continuously motivated and can better see their developments. It is impressive how the visible achievement of these milestones not only strengthens confidence in the therapy, but also the patient’s self-confidence. These small successes are an important incentive to keep believing in themselves and not give up even in difficult moments.
Aftercare with cereneo Home Services
Rehabilitation does not end with a stay in a clinic — ongoing support is crucial for long-term success. With our cereneo Home Services, we offer patients support even after they have been discharged from the rehabilitation clinic. Therapists come to the patient’s home and accompany them in their personal environment. In addition, we enable continued close collaboration with our medical team through teletherapy and online doctor consultations — so we can effectively continue the recovery process outside of the clinic.
My personal conclusion:
The insight into everyday therapy at cereneo has impressively demonstrated to me that individual patients are not viewed as “clinical cases”, but as people with individual needs and goals. The holistic approach, the close cooperation of the team and the use of innovative technologies enable us to give patients the highest possible quality of life and independence. It is a pleasure for me to be part of this process and to accompany the people who, thanks to our support, have hope and prospects for the future again.
