At cereneo we pursue excellence in clinical treatment based on newest scientific findings and technological developments. As such, there is a strong research collaboration between cereneo and the Lake Lucerne Institute AG (LLUI), an independent modern research facility in Vitznau. Thanks to this collaboration, patients with neurological impairments, such as a stroke, Parkinson, MS or TBI can benefit from the latest research findings and developments.
New digital App to guide therapy
At LLUI, two research groups, DART Lab and Therapy Science Lab, are working on the development of a digital app (iSpeak) aimed at supporting speech and language therapists in both traditional and telerehabilitation settings, together with the cereneo rehabilitation clinics and the team from cereneo home.
iSpeak is designed to digitize the assessment process, which has traditionally been done using paper and pen. By moving to a digital format, therapists can save time and benefit from a more objective and consistent method of evaluating patient status and progress. This ensures that each assessment is conducted in a standardized way, providing reliable data to guide therapy. iSpeak is part of HealthCore – a modular software ecosystem to collect and analyse health data across the continuum of care.
Supporting therapists to improve therapy
iSpeak simplifies the assessment process and provides therapists with a new tool to improve their work. It also solves the problem of isolated data in clinical settings, making it easier for therapists to access and analyse patient information, which helps them make more informed decisions about possible therapy adjustments.
The collaboration between cereneo, cereneo home, DART lab and Therapy Science Lab is an important step forward in neurorehabilitation, offering a practical solution that can improve both patient outcomes and the day-to-day work of therapists. As iSpeak development progresses, it promises to be a valuable addition to the field of speech and language therapy.
