Research cooperation between cereneo and the Data Analysis and Rehabilitation Technology (DART) group at LLUI

At cereneo, our goal is to offer our patients treatment individually tailored to their specific impairments and goals. No Stroke or Parkinson's patients are alike. Every patient at cereneo has different impairments and goals. To make treatment as effective as possible, each Rehabilitation program is personalized to achieve optimal results. This is only possible through regular examinations and check-ups. The results are discussed with the patient, and our medical team can make data-driven decisions about each patient's Progress and adjust therapies accordingly.

Incorporation of the latest technologies and scientific findings

To further improve the Rehabilitation outcomes of our patients, we work with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment such as robotics and VR games. Clinical treatments at cereneo are based on the latest scientific findings. Therefore, there is close research cooperation between the Clinic and the newly founded [institution/organization - context needed] Lake Lucerne Institute AG (LLUI), an independent, modern research institution in Vitznau. When it comes to objective assessment and monitoring, Clinic can rely on the expertise of the researchers in the Data Analytics & Rehabilitation Technology (DART) group at LLUI, who work at the interface of technology, Neurorehabilitation and data science, developing, evaluating and implementing technological approaches for Neurorehabilitation .

What benefits do patients at cereneo derive from the collaboration with the DART group at LLUI?

DART-Lab technologies are used in cereneo Clinic , enabling rapid and precise functional measurement using digital tools. All examination results are consolidated by the DART analysis engine on a dashboard that supports medical professionals in providing optimal patient care. DART team members are integrated into the regular clinical examination process and have access to state-of-the-art motion capture technologies, fully personalized real-time feedback training, virtual reality training scenarios, and IMU-based activity monitoring. Streamlined DART technologies, such as the intelligent ARAT, reduce the workload of therapists, allowing them to focus more on the patient rather than completing reports.

Furthermore, DART is conducting the StimuLOOP study, in which people with Stroke or Parkinson's disease can participate in intensive motor learning training. In this study, motor learning during the day is enhanced by providing highly specific acoustic stimuli at night – a world-first application of engram theory for motor learning in Rehabilitation .
