Cereneo's quality management ensures the following:
To further improve the quality of service and, in a broader sense, to further develop the entire Clinic for the benefit of our patients.

cereneo has had a certified quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015 since March 2019.
This stands for the continuous improvement of the product or process with a focus on meeting patient needs.
The certificate is valid for 3 years.
In the interest of continuous improvement, a maintenance audit is carried out annually and a recertification audit after 3 years.
Neurorehabilitation has not yet fully realized its potential to improve neurological impairments. A better understanding of the physiological processes of regeneration and learning in the brain, the use of new methods, and higher therapy intensity (longer therapy duration) offer the prospect of improved Recovery after brain injuries. Concepts, research topics, and cooperation partners for a Neurorehabilitation clinic are discussed.
A needs analysis and a business plan for the Clinic in Vitznau are being developed in collaboration with specialized partners from the fields of hospital planning, Insurance , academia, and many other experts. This is followed by numerous discussions with Insurance companies, physicians, health authorities, and human resources professionals. The vision of a Clinic with a new therapy concept, where all patients receive equal treatment and there is no difference between insured and self-paying patients, is taking shape.
After a two-year preparation phase, cereneo AG was founded in Vitznau in April 2012. The new neurorehabilitation clinic is the first new provider in this segment in decades. The differences compared to other providers in the region are clearly visible. The architecture and furnishings were designed with meticulous attention to detail and the goal of providing excellent neurorehabilitation . At cereneo, there is ample space and outstanding equipment – entirely for the benefit of patients and their families.
Cereneo first opened its doors to patients in 2013. At that time, the team consisted of just 16 people. For the nursing, therapists, doctors, and all other staff members, this marked the beginning of an exciting journey to build a new Clinic with a new structure and new concepts. We began gathering evidence to support our ideas.
The Clinic is now established. At the beginning of the year, it employs 10 Nursing , 14 movement therapists, and 2 physicians. A scientific advisory board has been established, with three appointed members: Professor Nick Ward, University College London, UK; Professor Gert Kwakkel, VU University clinic Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Professor John Krakauer, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA.
Another exciting day for cereneo: construction begins on the second Clinic in Hertenstein, Switzerland. The new Clinic on Lake Lucerne will be able to accommodate up to 23 patients and will feature state-of-the-art therapy areas and comfortable accommodations.
Cereneo is taking another step to reach a broader patient base, regardless of location, by founding Relearnlabs, a startup specializing in telemedicine rehabilitation services. Cereneo continuously strives to improve its quality standards. The recently obtained ISO certifications are an excellent example of the efforts of the entire Cereneo team.
ALVE is launched: The secure rehabilitation platform (developed by relearnlabs) is now available worldwide for patients, regardless of their location. In October, cereneo will welcome its first patients to the new Clinic in Hertenstein.
Cereneo is expanding its patient-centered Rehabilitation services with the launch of cereneo Home, a specialized service offering in the area of home-based and online rehabilitation . This step enables cereneo to provide care to patients outside of Clinic – in the familiar surroundings of their own homes. This underscores cereneo's commitment to making high-quality neurological rehabilitation accessible at every stage of recovery, regardless of where patients are on their journey.
The cereneo Clinic is celebrating 10 years of outstanding Neurorehabilitation . A whole weekend full of educational and cultural events – from a scientific congress on the topic of “The Future of Neurorehabilitation ” to an open day with guided Clinic tours for the public.
The Pühringer Foundation receives the Lucerne Tourism Prize 2023 for its outstanding work for the Lake Lucerne tourism region with the Park Hotel Vitznau, the Campus Hotel Hertenstein, DAS MORGEN and the two cereneo centers for neurology and Rehabilitation .
